Production Planner

Description:
PDS Tech, Inc. is seeking Production Planner in Kilgore, TX. 

 Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling, by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  1. Know and follow general company and corporate policies and procedures.
  2. Know, understand, and follow department policies and procedures.
  3. Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  4. Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  5. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
  6. Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  7. Confers with planning staff concerning product tooling to ensure efficient production methods
  8. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
  9. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  10. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  11. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
  12. Consults customer specification documents to develop operations routing for all manufactured products.
  13. Other various duties as needed or as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
-High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
-Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
 
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities including (but not limited to):
-MasterCAM
-Syteline Manufacturing software
-Microsoft Project Management software
-Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software
-Microsoft Word Processing software
 
Language Skills
-Ability to read and write the English language.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
-Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Work is generally performed in a climate controlled office environment. Occasionally exposed to a climate-controlled manufacturing environment with moderate to high levels of noise.
 
5+ years experience working in production planning in an Aerospace production environment.

  • REVIEW P.O’s  TO BE CORRECT TO QUOTATIONS SUBMITTAL FOR JOB
  • A WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF CATIA SOFTWARE FOR PLANNING PURPOSES
  • INVENTORY AND MATERIAL MANAGEMENT
  • REVIEW SPECIFICATIONS REVISION’S FOR CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS
  • UPDATE PLANNING AND MASTER FILES
  • REVIEW QUALITY REWORK ISSUES FOR SUB-CONTRACT P.O’s
