Export Administrator

PDS Tech Inc is seeking an Export Administrator for an open position in DFW, TX

Primary Responsibilities
  • Determines the U.S. export classifications of hardware, software, and other items within the jurisdiction of the EAR or ITAR, whichever is applicable.

  • Initiates communications with manufacturers, suppliers, and/or company personnel to obtain the information necessary to determine the correct export classifications.
  • Updates export data and documents in SAP for Legal Controls filtering. Reviews export system blocks and works with Airbus Defense and Space, Inc. (ADSI) to obtain licenses, when required.
  • Validates export controls for export shipments, such as Denied Party Screening, permissibility of destination, license requirements, and end user agreements.
  • Determines when an Electronic Export Information (EEI) is required and ensures that the required information is properly filed so an EEI is issued.
  • Creates export invoices, shipper's letters of instruction, bills of lading and other documents required to comply with U.S. export requirements and/or the foreign country's import requirements.
  • Updates SAP with the export and temporary import license information obtained from ADSI, tracks such licenses and their decrementation in SAP, and notifies ADSI when new licenses are needed.
  • Assists in the preparation of export and temporary import license applications under the supervision of the Sr. Director, Export Compliance.
  • Ensures export documentation is retained for the period required by applicable U.S. law.
  • Compiles export data from SAP and AES in IntegrationPoint and uses it to create appropriate monthly reports on export activities for Sr. Director, Export Compliance.
  • Assists in the preparation of commodity classification requests under the supervision of the Sr. Director, Export Compliance.
  • Assists in responding to inquires regarding Harmonized Tariff Schedule and Schedule B classifications.
  • Participates in a rotating "on-call" schedule with the team.
  • This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and employee will perform other tasks, as assigned.

    Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Business/Economics/International Trade is preferred.
    Position requires a minimum of two years experience in export or import compliance.
    Experience in aviation, engineering, or aircraft maintenance and repair is a plus.
    Ability to speak additional languages also is a plus.
Requires working knowledge or familiarization of/with the following:
    Warehouse receiving, storage, issue and shipping functions
    Traffic functions
    Harmonized Tariff Schedule
    S. Customs regulations
    Export regulations and licensing (including ITAR & EAR).
