Design Test Engineer - WA

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Design Test Engineer located in Bingen, WA

Drafts, reviews and edits work instructions and Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) for a product group. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques. Collaborates with engineering regarding design for manufacturability concepts and limited specification requirements. Designs, builds, and implements improvements on workflow ideas, fixture designs, and quality improvements. Compiles and evaluates test and production data, prepares technical analysis. Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment. Incorporates inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies. Provides production floor and assembly support in technical matters relating to assembly drawing interpretation, engineering change notices, rework, manufacturing difficulties and specifications and recommends changes. Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining, Work In Progress (WIP) storage and material handling. Plans arrangement of machines within plant facilities and verifies an efficient and productive layout.
Develop and execute automated tests to validate functionality in all phases of testing, including functional, performance and regression ensuring developed software meets defined specifications.
Design and documentation of automated test and test work instructions, and Interface Test Adapters (ITAs)
Document test anomalies and actively support the investigation and resolution of all anomalies
Design and debug test fixtures and test set
Develop test code
Develop and track plans for issue closure and risk mitigation
Respond with creative and flexible solutions in a rapidly-changing work environment while adhering to best testing practices
Test improvements and optimization
Participate in continuous process improvement efforts in test coverage and test effectiveness
Participate in stand-up meetings with a collaborative team as part of an agile process
Support and maintain performance metrics and report status to management
Sensitivity to cost, schedule and quality as well as Northrop Grumman policies and procedures (Command Media) is imperative

Demonstrated ability to design test equipment.
Demonstrated ability to work in both an R&D and production environments.
Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with technical and non-technical personnel.
Mix of hardware and software skills
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Minimum of 3 years' experience
Candidate should be self-directed, organized, team oriented individual with the ability to effectively communicate and work with design engineering, system engineering and program office

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing test set hardware and software, and working successfully to cost and schedule constraints.
PWB design and layout
VME Bus operation, control and design
Software skills to include experience with National Instruments LabVIEW, National Instruments TestStand
Experience with the following test equipment: scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator and network analyzer

Minimum of an Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering
