Chemical Engineer Summary Statement:
Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories and concepts related to Chemical Engineering.
Chemical Engineer Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Solves unusual problems that require moderate ingenuity and innovation related to chemical engineering, chemical formulations and manufacturing processes. Work is accomplished under general management direction. Applies extensive knowledge of chemistry and chemical engineering to design and develop transparency related aircraft products for military, executive, general aviation, or special purpose applications on operational aircraft. Researches and develops new and improved chemical manufacturing processes. Designs chemical plant equipment and devises processes for manufacturing. Determines most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, conditioning, application, and testing of related polymer products. Develops, implements, and maintains chemical processes;calculates and organizes all data for complex process flow sheets including instrumentation and control considerations; models processes and units operations. Confers with management to ensure proper sequence of operation and prepares specifications and operating instructions for processing equipment. Services, troubleshoots, and solves engineering problems with processes or equipment already in operation. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over such variables as temperature, density, pressure and viscosity. May function as Project Manager on large projects or significant portions of very large projects. Provides technical leadership and oversight to the assigned engineering staff. May represent the Company to current or prospective customers or vendors on technical matters related to the job assignment or technical specialty.

Chemical Engineer Job Qualifications:
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and
Chemical Engineer Work Experience:
Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. Technical Bachelor level degree in Engineering or the sciences or equivalent and six(6) years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level of Supervision Required:
Works under general direction. Receives guidance as to results expected and to resolve complex problems. Exercises latitude in determining activities and approaches within moderate to wide parameters. Standard Job Requirements:
•Must be able to arrive at work on time, work on-site, and attend regularly.
•Must be able to read and write technically in the English language, perform appropriate mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
•Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and operate standard office equipment.
•Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations

Special Job Requirements:
Experience and working knowledge of the following:
•Polymerization and casting of liquid methyl methacrylatemonomer
•Catalysts and cross-linking agents
•Filtration of liquid monomers
•Mechanical properties testing of polymers
•Adhesion promoters and surface primers
•Polymer coating so Polysiloxane and other protective coating so Electrically-conductive coating so Optical coatings for projection screens. Special Training:
•Safety training applicable to the job and the general work area.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The Stakeholder frequently is required to move from one place to another and reach with hands and arms. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Travel between facilities. Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Work Environment :Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area, if required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Mental Requirements:
Able to work as a team member, highly organized, work well under stress and handle multiple priorities. Must possess interpersonal and communication skills to interact with other people inside and outside the company.
