Radiation Effects Engineer

Description:
In this role, you will play a key role in the component engineering group supporting new andexisting spacecraft propulsion programs. Proficiency in radiation effects, survivability engineeringdesign, and test methods used to assure electronic components are compatible with operation inspace radiation environments expected.
50% - Provide Radiation Analysis expertise. Assess customer radiation requirements and develop derived radiation requirements for EEEparts. Create models to assess radiation risk of EEE(electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical) parts. Generate and submit radiation risk assessment reports. Support radiation risk mitigation efforts. Evaluate new devices for radiation performance. Develop radiation test plans at the EEE part level and support test execution.25% - Support design teams in the selection, evaluation, and documentation of EEE parts. Create detailed part drawings which meet customer requirements. Review parts lists and ensure selected parts comply with customer requirements. Generate Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPARs).15% - Lead investigations of failed components. Use industry standard failure investigation processes to determine root cause of failures. Generate failure investigation reports and recommend effective corrective actions to preventrecurrence of failure.10% - Mentor junior team members.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Advanced knowledge of semiconductor physics, radiation effects on semiconductor devices,circuit design, and electronics testing. Knowledge of radiation effects (TID, ELDRS, SEE). Experience with radiation effects simulation software. Advanced knowledge of applicable industry practices and standards in EEE parts and radiationeffects. Experience with formal problem solving and failure analysis tools and techniques. Experience working an equivalent engineering environment is desired.

EDUCATION:
Accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related field and 5 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
