Staff Systems Engineer-Degraded Visual Environment

Description:
*Ability to deal with complex problems in an international environment of cultural diversity.
*Lifecycle Product development from concept through verification and delivery to the customer including integration onto the specific platform.
*Technical leadership during the design/implementation phase.
*Technical briefings to management and customers.
*Excellent planning, management and communication skills.
*Development of technical & product roadmaps and competitive assessments.
*Lead and/or review of proposals and participate in customer presentations.
*Analysis of Customer Documentation to create System Level Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), Specifications, Architectural Design and Interface Control Drawings (ICDs).
*Lead the sophisticated analysis, design and testing of complex systems
*Technical interface between ESA’s external customers and sub-contractors.
*Provide technical support to customer and user lab and on-aircraft testing
*Develop and analyze highly complex algorithms.
*Support proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost estimating and presentation activities.
*Proficiency in the use of Requirements Management and Model Based Systems Engineering tools, preferably DOORS and Rhapsody
*Work independently and with internal/external organizations
*May travel Domestically and Internationally.

Qualifications:
*Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Software or Systems Engineering, or Computer Science
*5-10 years functional experience may substitute
*Knowledge of AH-1W, V-22, AH-64, UH-60 and CH-47 military helicopter platforms preferred.
*Design and development of Helmet Mounted Display Systems, including but not limited to:
*Certification of helmet mounted systems, including safety of flight and Operational Software certification.
*Helmet mounted tracking systems, cockpit magnetic mapping characteristics, functions and anomalies, algorithm mapping and development, degraded visual enhancement capabilities, and weapon slaving accuracy.
*Hardware and software integration, checkout, test, and debug from laboratory through aircraft installation, ground and flight test.
*Helmet Optics
*Field Support for all “non-standard” system issues.
*Providing training at Government facilities in country or overseas.
*Responsible for developing technical strategic plans with a team.
