Sr Instructional Designer

PDS Tech is seeking a Sr Instructional Designer for an open position in Savannah, GA.

Position Purpose:
The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of all formal and informal training solutions across the enterprise. Conducts formal needs assessments to ensure that the design, development and revision of the training curriculum achieves business objectives and improves employee performance.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: 1. Conduct needs assessment to understand the needs of the business. Based on the analysis of multiple sources of information, design, develop and revise training and development programs to achieve business objectives and improve on-the-job performance. 2. Utilize operations-focused project management strategies that are consistent with instructional design best practices; ensure action and remediation planning is completed for gaps identified through a formal needs assessment process. 3. Implement modern instructional design concepts and best practices when formulating learning strategies; identify, design and develop innovative, robust, interactive formal and informal learning solutions. 4. Provide guidance to subject matter experts (SMEs) and instructional designers on design standards for training materials, participant guides, facilitator guides, job aids, and performance support tools; strong attention to detail. 5. Support the design and development of workplace learning standards, processes and tools; support the implementation of a performance support learning system including working with stakeholders to manage program design, development, evaluation, and maintenance processes. 6. Build solid cross-functional relationships by partnering with subject matter experts, to ensure standardization of training policies, procedures, and delivery methods. 7. Contribute to the design and development of long-term strategic learning plans for the enterprise. Coordinate instructional design activities with department team members to meet deadlines and align learning objectives across the enterprise. 8. Articulate the advantages and disadvantages of various principles and technology applications to assist with the design of appropriate instructional delivery methods for both new and existing courses. 9. Using the consultative approach, influence stakeholders by building consensus and gaining commitment to training solutions. 

Additional Functions: 1. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Training contacts 2. Travel required. approximately 20 percent. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements: 1. Consulting and project management skills, familiarity with a wide variety of training media and a strong foundation in needs assessment, adult learning principles, behavior modeling and competency assessment required. 2. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Adobe Software, Spreadsheet software, Design software and Project Management software.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 4 years of progressive responsibility related to HR experience. 

Unique Skills:

 Aircraft knowledge preferred. - Aircraft manufacturing and Repair Station knowledge and or experience preferred. -Experience with major ERP systems preferred -Manufacturing and/or Repair Station experience preferred -Knowledge of instructional design theory and Adult Learning Principles
