ASP.NET Developer

Description:
We are seeking an experienced and effective ASP.NET Developer with complementary data visualizations skills including Adobe Flex and GIS technologies (or strong aptitude/interest in this area). The selected candidate will support our customers within client Centers in Atlanta, GA. The successful candidate will work on multiple projects and will be responsible for the following: (1) Developing integrated ASP.NET applications and Web pages. (2) Assisting in developing robust data visualization applications using the Adobe Flex API for ArcGIS Server. (3) Collaborating effectively with team members using common .NET Framework terminology. (4) Testing pages among a variety or workstation configurations and printers for accuracy and legibility. (5) Monitoring performance of the deployed application and refining utilities, as needed. (6) Maintaining applications written in legacy technologies (i.e., classic ASP) might be a periodic requirement. Position is approximately 90% ASP.NET/VB.NET coding and 10% design and analysis.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Experience with common Web technologies including .NET Framework 1.x and 2.x, Visual Studio, ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET, VB, VBScript, COM/DCOM, IIS, JavaScript, Classic ASP.
• Experience developing applications with advanced customization of controls.
• Exposure to GIS and data visualization technologies including ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, and Adobe Flex.
• Demonstrated aptitude to create Rich Internet Applications using Adobe Flex.
• Implementing Structure Approaches in development and ability to implement competent object oriented (OO) principles.
• Experience creating stored procedures, complex queries, triggers, etc., in SQL Server.
• Effective analytical skills and ability to assist in gathering requirements on multiple concurrent Web application projects. Analysis skills should include scope definition, understanding detailed customer requirements, and time management.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse individuals in a team setting. Ability to discuss and share technical knowledge using common terminology with team members.
• Experience developing use case scenarios, process flows, and storyboards.
• Ability to prepare or contribute to project lifecycle documentation (e.g., SDLC documentation) and project progress documentation.
• Complete understanding of n-tier architecture (presentation, logic, and data layers).
• Understanding of software development processes in a structured environment, including Agile development and Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to prepare and present meaningful progress reports to project stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Motivation to meet deadlines and quickly learn new technologies.
DESIRED SKILLS
• Experience with InstantAtlas and PureMVC.
• Experience with creation of thematic maps using ArcIMS and Adobe Flex API for ArcGIS Server.
• Experience working in a government contracting environment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• BS or BA in Computer Science or closely related field.
