Description:
STS Technical Services is hiring A&P Mechanics in Oscoda, Michigan.

Job Duties & Requirements:
A&P’s to perform hangar and line maintenance on mostly Boeing Commercial Aircraft
Kalitta’s own fleet consists of 747s, 767s and 777s
Mechanics do not need to be current or have an A&P, but they must have experience if they do not have a valid A&P
The job duties of an A&P mechanic vary from preventive maintenance to repairs
A mechanic makes routine inspections, documents inspections and repairs, performs scheduled maintenance and runs tests after making repairs or performing maintenance
Job duties may vary based on which part of the plane is being worked on
A mechanic working on the exterior of a plane may be fixing a broken wing, repairing paint or securing a door so it seals properly
An A&P mechanic inspects, services and repairs airplanes to ensure they’re operating correctly and safely
A mechanic is responsible for ensuring that airplanes get regular maintenance and that any problems are fixed correctly
Mechanics may work on different parts of an aircraft, such as the engine, landing gear, brakes and pumps
A mechanic working on the engine may be changing the oil, replacing belts or repairing a broken part

Abrams Tank Mechanics

Description:
STS Technical Services is hiring Abrams Tank Mechanics in Killeen, Texas to work for one of our Fortune 500 clients.

In this role, you will work to repair Abrams tanks and troubleshoot all aspects of the engine, communication systems, parts/components. You will also work to provide input to program planning, schedules, and maintenance techniques of the Abrams fleet of vehicles and other traced/wheeled variants. This is a tremendous opportunity to work for a company that holds industry leading standards for defense and also is on the leading edge of an industry boom.

Contract Length: 6+ months

Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance checks and services on variations of the Abrams Tanks (M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2) as well as familiar with the deprocessing and maintenance tasks on the variations of the Abrams Tanks (M1A1 ED, M1A2 SEP V2) vehicles for the Material Fielding Team (MFT) at Ft. Hood.
Perform troubleshooting specific faults, failures and deficiencies. Provide input to program planning, schedules, and maintenance techniques for the Abrams Fleet Vehicles and other tracked/wheeled vehicles
Read and interpret troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures and flow diagrams for systems, subsystems and components.
Maintain accountability of special tools, test equipment and property.
Required Experience:
1-plus years related experience in truck mechanics with emphasis on the Abrams tank
Must have overall understanding of customer contacts and relationships
Be able to work autonomously with government personnel.
Must be able to gain access to US Military Facilities or bases, including a NACI if required
Must be able to travel away for extended periods.
Efficient knowledge of Microsoft Applications
Required to work at heights, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, able to climb, kneel, stoop, bend and work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
Ability to meet anthropometric size requirements to enter into a drivers station or enclosed military vehicle
Valid Drivers License is required with the ability to get a tank drivers license if required

Job Summary:

STS Technical Services is actively seeking candidates for a Mechanic I role with our Fortune 500 Client! In this role, you’ll assist in the diagnoses of vehicle malfunctions, perform preventive maintenance and repair various types of heavy military transit and support vehicles with the assistance of a skilled mechanic, either in the field or at the operations garage.

Your duties would also include basic vehicle repair, basic paint and body repair and basic electric/electronic diagnosis and repair under supervision. You’ll assist skilled mechanics in the work assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor, and you’ll report to the Maintenance Supervisor on duty.

Daily Duties:
Works toward proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all heavy wheeled vehicles
Works to become proficient in the removal and replacement of vehicle components
Works to develop accurate diagnosis skills and effective repair and/or replacement of component techniques necessary for the proper functioning of assigned equipment
Works to learn and performs preventive maintenance inspections
Works to develop skills necessary to perform timely and effective repair of any problems identified during preventive maintenance inspections
Repairing and adjusting torsion arms, air bags, and all other components of suspension system
Testing, repairing and/or replacing components of electrical and lighting systems.
Training and/or Education:

Job Duties:
Coordinate efficient and economical maintenance operations by providing technical assistance to guide personnel during maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ensure that maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with General Maintenance Manual (GMM), various company manuals, and FAR’s.
Maintain and issue control numbers, and complete required paperwork, for Deferred Maintenance Items / Minimum Equipment List. (DMI/MEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL) and Carryover Items (COI).
Maintain the current DMI/MEL, CDL, COI status in the MISA database for tracking and communication.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Control Manager.
Qualifications:
High school graduate; some college and/or technical school desirable
Good working knowledge of world geography and flight operations required
Must have an valid A&P License
Experience working heavy transport aircraft (preferably 747-200 and 400 aircraft)
Ability to use and understand wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals and parts manuals
Good computer skills and verbal communication skills
Maintenance Control experience is preferable but not required

Field Service Representatives

STS Technical Services is hiring Field Service Representatives at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina to join the largest military vehicle upgrade project in US history, the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV).

Overall, FSR will provide full classroom instruction (FLMNET/OPNET) to soldiers on ; powertrain, cooling, electrical charging, suspension, heating and ventilation, steering and system integration support of ancillary equipment. The FSR will also help to provide orientation to key personnel with respect to operations, maintenance, repair and parts supply as well as support efforts for equipment retrofits at Camp Pendleton.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide classroom based instruction and maintenance based instruction to support to military customer.
Travel as required, up to 5%-10% annually.
Ability to diagnose, repair, and service defense light wheeled vehicles.
Coordinate with customers and fellow employees to get service and parts expedited to the customer’s satisfaction.
Anticipate and manage customer needs and develop and implement curriculum updates or maintenance operations.
Recommend and provide instruction to operators and maintainers on the correct operations and maintenance procedures
Execute defense, domestic and international field service efforts.
Execute defense warranty administration process
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years mechanical experience in heavy/light wheeled vehicles/ 5-10 years preferred
Ability to obtain minimum – NACI level security clearance.
Degree preferred in vehicle service repair, heavy equipment, or diesel technology. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Valid Driver’s License
