Job Description:
Engineer will participate in leak testing of production and fluid systems on the SLS core stage. This includes updating test procedures, test setup, test conduct, test tear down, and paperwork closure. Included in this effort includes components on all major components of the rocket as well as multiple integration points. Leak testing will consists of detection using bubble soap and mass helium spectrometers.
Candidate must have the specific Leak Testing (LT) certification per ANSI/ASNT CP-105, Standard Topical Outlines for Qualification of Nondestructive Testing Personnel, , Level I, II, or III. Leak test methods include Bubble testing, Pressure Change, and Mass Spectrometer Testing. In the event that an ASNT certification is not held by the candidate, the candidate shall meet the training, practical experience, and examination criteria for certification per ASNT Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A.
 
Education / Experience:
Supports the development and verification of test methods. Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test and minimize risk within the constraints of the test plan. Develops solutions to calibration systems problems of limited scope and impact. Designs test hardware, software and systems to achieve test requirements. Uses analytical tools to verify the design. Analyzes, processes, and formats data to customer requirements. Reviews test data, including off-nominal data, for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity prior to delivery to customer. Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results and satisfy requirements. Presents test results internally. Archives data and reports. Trains others. Works under general direction.
