Structural/Stress Engineer

Location: Windsor Locks, CT (06096)

12 month contract

Bachelor's Degree Required

Job Requirements:
Associate must create detail finite element models of complicated assemblies must understand proper application of boundary conditions and areas that need increased mesh densities
Associate must work with designers and deliver stress plot for various load conditions for all the components in the assembly (as needed)
Associate must be proficient in NASTRAN and Patran

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of aerospace structural design, stress and load combination techniques, factors of safety, margins of safety, and aerospace bolt calculations. Additional software skills include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Mathcad calculation methods. This assignment will be focused on preparing aerospace stress reports for components designed for NASA's Orion space capsule
