Senior Quality Engineer

Description:
Location: Brookpark, OH
Rate: $40.00 - $50.00/HR
Duration: 1 year contract
Per Diem Split: Yes (if eligible)

** Dual citizens are NOT eligible for this role **

Duties:
95% - Coordinate, lead and provide direct oversight in support of both Aerojet Rocketdyne’s (AR) customer(s) and suppliers in support of AR’s Advanced Electric Propulsion (EP) and Power system product area. Interface with process senior peers and program leads on tactical and strategic initiatives to improve schedule and cost execution.
5% - Provide input to AR’s EP and Power systems programs personnel with initiatives and ideas that can reduce cycle time, improve yield, and reduce QA associated costs.

Skills:
- Strong Quality Management System, Quality principle and mission assurance acumen in an aerospace and/or defense environment.
- Background, experience and knowledge with AS9100 certifications and have worked with suppliers certified to AS9100
- Preferred certification and or knowledge/training to J-Std-001 space addendum
- Preferred certification and or knowledge/training to NASA-STD-8739
- Knowledge on auditing or performing source inspections
- Experience with electrical and electronics design, assembly, inspection, and testing
- Experience in leading employees across multiple QA disciplines
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Customer savvy and ability to address and drive proactive action when required.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or physics with 10 -15 years of experience working with NASA Glenn.
- Should have a good understanding of Electric Propulsion.
