Structural Design Engineer – Level 2

Description:
Location: Decatur, AL
Duration: 1 Year Contract
Pay Rate: DOE
Shift: 1st Shift
Overtime: Exempt
Per Diem Split: Yes (if eligible)

****MUST be a U.S. Citizen****

Requirements:
- Mechanical or Aerospace engineering BSME with 2 - 5 yrs experience, efficient with part & assembly layout/ modeling capabilities using NX (V10) & CREO.
- This is a level 1 or 2 position. Looking for no more than 5 years of experience and looking for both experience with NX and CREO.
-Tasks could include, general model management, drawing creation/support, secondary hardware design and layout of secondary attach hardware.
- Efficient with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance in and able to coordinate and communicate with other technical disciplines (Design, Strength, Avionics, Propulsion) and impacted sites (Production, Test House, etc.) to ensure final design meets all requirements.
- Proficiency with NX and CREO is required.

Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product to include structures, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronics, heating and ventilating, equipment and maintenance designs.
- Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
- Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
- Provides solutions to a variety of engineering/ scientific problems that require knowledge of company products and processes.
- Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects.
- Failure to achieve expected results may cause project delays and result in additional costs.
- Works under general supervision.
- Interprets procedures when performing an assignment.
- May modify adjustments to standard approaches.
- Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.

Education:
- Mechanical or Aerospace engineering BSME with 2 - 5 yrs experience.
- Efficient with part & assembly layout/ modeling capabilities using NX (V10) & CREO.
