Sr Structural Designer

Description:
Location: Cape Canaveral, FL
Duration: 12 months with possible extensions

Job Description:
The Structural CAD Designer will prepare predominantly civil, structural and architectural detail drawings. Will work with Structural Engineers to produce drawings required to perform structural modifications to new and existing launch facilities. This position is in support of United Launch Alliance Launch Operations at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Florida for the Atlas V, Delta IV, and future Vulcan launch vehicles. He/she will gather and organize information, perform research and prepare sketches and detailed drawings for facility modification contracts. He/she will perform field walk-downs and review and revise electronic CAD files from a variety of native drawing databases. This position requires knowledge of civil and structural design, drafting practices as well as a sound practical knowledge of engineering principles and industry standards. The candidate will be responsible for the quality of design documents ensuring all are prepared & checked in accordance with applicable procedures.

Skills:
The successful candidate should have at least (10) years of relevant experience building and/or modifying large industrial facilities. Also, he/she should have at least (10) years of recent Autodesk AutoCAD experience. 3D modeling and design experience in Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, or other Building Information Modeling (BIM) software is highly preferred.
