Electrical Engineer

Description:
An Electrical Engineer job in Salem, VA is currently available at Belcan. To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 2-10 years of experience with design and development tools. In this role you will be part of a team developing electric power generation and control platforms used for solar, batter storage, wind, and other applications.

Essential Responsibilities
Electrical Engineer Job Duties:
· Develop hardware design documentation for embedded control systems.
· Design electrical schematics and print circuit boards for electric power systems.
· Develop FPGA-based solutions for communications and other I/O.
· Provide technical support to resolve field issues
· Own and maintain electronic platforms across throughout the product life cycle.
· Use the latest emerging technologies and tools to solve complex engineering problems, working alongside product domain experts and technical professionals

Job Qualifications:
· Strong demonstrated aptitude for electrical design.
· Digital and analog circuit design expertise
· FPGA development experience
· Familiarity with Cadence tool chain
· Familiarity Altera and/or Xilinx toolchains
· Co-op or internship experience with design and development tools.
· Electrical Engineering Degree or Computer Engineering Degree
· Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required/U.S. Citizen only

Preferred Skills:
FPGA coding, Spice, Printed Circuit Board design, interest or experience in electric power industry
