Assembly Tech/Fitter - Hypersonics



Position Description of Assembly Tech:

Our client is seeking a qualified Fitter/Assembly Tech for its hypersonic line of business. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields.

Position Overview of Assembly Tech:

The Fitter/Assembly Tech will assemble and fit precision pipe and structural weldments from a variety of engineering materials for assembling and welding.

Candidate must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints and technical instructions and fabricate holding tolerances in accordance with engineering data.

Basic Qualifications of Assembly Tech:
Candidates must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
Candidates must have at least five (5) years of relevant assembly and fabrication experience with knowledge of part preparation for weld, close tolerance hole drill, layout and fabricate parts per the engineering drawing and specifications.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience reading and interpreting drawings/documents such as operating instructions, work instructions, and blueprint data.
Candidates must pass the DOT physical to operate company vehicles.
Candidates must be to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment.

Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Hours of operation are 6:00-4:30 Monday – Thursday with possible overtime.

Preference shown to Assembly Techs with:
Candidates who have experience and/or working knowledge of:
Fitting and assembling of close tolerance parts per the engineering drawings with working knowing of cutting, preparing, and assembling part prior to welding.
Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
