Aerospace Tool Maker

Description:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced machinist to join our dynamic team of professionals in an Aerospace tooling & gage manufacturing facility in New Britain CT. The Tool Maker will be a critical part of our team, responsible for ensuring quality in the tooling making within the Aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in Tooling & Gage fabrication, production, or manufacturing specifically within the Aerospace and Defense industry.

You Will:
Fabricate fixtures, gages, and tooling using aerospace specifications
Utilize blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to fabricate, or repair tooling, gages
Assure safe operation and care of toolroom equipment
Ensure quality standards are being met per customer requirements
Assess complex tooling and equipment needs and refurbish as required
Troubleshoot and resolve tooling problems
Set up and operate all toolroom equipment independently
Strive to continuously improve tooling and reduce manufacturing errors or scraps
Cleaning up the work station as needed to maintain cleanly and organized work stations
Must be willing to share knowledge of the trade, train apprentices, and instruct other machinists to perform tasks on larger jobs
Be able to work in a fast pace environment
Be willing to work 45+ hours a week when workload requires

You'll Need:
Machinist with the ability to plan and run jobs
Experience in a job shop environment preferred
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience with tool making, specifically in Aerospace industry
Must have familiarity with CNC processing
Ability to hold tolerances as close as +/- .0002
Strong understanding of GDP blueprint reading and GD&T symbols
Experience in Aerospace Tooling including: Jigs, Fixtures, Ground Support Equipment
