Title: Aeronautical Engineer

Description

Candidate will contribute to aircraft FC&VMS (Flight Controls & Vehicle Management System) design, configuration development, feasibility and risk analyses, and technology maturation plans, define, develop, analyze and coordinate FC&VMS requirements with other flight sciences disciplines including ground and flight test, reliability & maintainability, system safety, and other personnel. Develop models and simulations as needed for design and analysis. Perform trade studies and define preliminary requirements for VMS architecture components. Design mechanical and electrical/electronic interfaces to support system integration and test. Define high level software requirements and flow down requirements to procurement specifications. Tasks may also include management of selected vendors, including verification of requirements. The candidate will support system/software verification and validation effort and customer reviews during all phases of system development. The candidate will develop and support integration and system check out (SCO) procedures on flight test article and support pre-flight and post-flight analysis and reviews

60% - Develops hardware and software requirements for rocket propulsion systems product development. Responsible for derivation, allocation, and documentation of requirements in a requirements database. Responsible for the development and maintenance of system, subsystem, and component specifications. Coordinates requirements and related specification change management with IPT members. Defines and coordinates requirements verification plans with integrated product team members, plans and manages compliance assessment and certification.



15% - Performs functional analysis in support of requirements development effort. Supports and/or coordinates system trade studies. Coordinates selection of optimized concept baselines through benefit/cost trades in support of definition of system architecture and objectives.



15% - Coordinates project risk assessment and management and prepares and reports results on mitigation plans.



10% - Communicates results in oral presentations and written communication.

Skills:
-9 years minimum directly related industry experience in Systems Engineering disciplines (requirements development and management, risk management, and system integration) across the full product development life-cycle for aerospace/rocket propulsion system design and development.

-Experience with requirements management software (IBM Rational DOORS, IBM Requisite Pro, etc.).

Education:
-Bachelor degree in Systems Engineering or appropriate discipline/science (Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace).

Test-Configuration Technician

Description:

* This position has the best chance of going temp-to-perm if the candidates the right fit
* Position duties will vary from day-to-day or week-to-week; for example, one day may be asked to work the production floor, the next doing Quality Control Testing and following the week Research & Development work with Engineering

“MUST-HAVES”:
1. Someone with a strong understanding of Electrical Systems or Electrical Theory
2. General Networking knowledge / experience; setting up computers, testing components, troubleshooting networks

Summary

This position will require a person with a diversified skill sets who is flexible and able prioritize workloads in a rapidly changing environment. The person must be organized, detail oriented, and a self-starter able to work with little supervision. A typical day can vary greatly and the person can be asked to do production work, QC testing, and/or R&D work with Engineering. The production work would require some electro-mechanical assembly skills for assembling and wiring small to medium size panels and enclosures. The quality work would include testing of incoming components as well as functionality testing for finished assemblies or systems. The R&D work would be hands on work with engineering to help develop prototype concepts and designs. There is a possibility of some travel to help the fielding of newly shipped projects.

Job Description:

> Assembles, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components
> Reads and comprehends manuals and related manufacturing documentation
> Troubleshoots and assesses electrical/mechanical systems while providing feedback and implements approved solutions
> Completes full system test of integrated systems as well individual components
> Maintains thorough documentation and records
> Helps develop and write testing procedures for systems
> Assemble mechanical parts, as instructed in accordance to manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, etc.) into sub-units or complete units.
> Wire electronic components as instructed in accordance to manufacturing documentation (assembly instructions, process documents, travelers, etc.) into sub-units or complete units
> Responsible for soldering and crimping connectors
> Completes production/quality related documentation
> Assembles repairs and fabricates parts by operating mechanical equipment or tools, in conjunction with adhering to proper handling and safety requirements (Cutting and Fabrication).
> Performs work in accordance with quality and engineering standards
> Keep work area clean and organized as to present a professional work environment
> Complete any other work-related task as directed by supervisor

Experience / Requirements:
> 5 + years’ experience in a R&D/Quality/Manufacturing environment
> Associates Degree or higher in an Electronic or Networking Field REQUIRED
> Ability to read / interpret complex instructions and engineering drawings/specifications (Mechanical and Electrical)
> Experienced / skilled with hand tools (Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Torque tools, Small power tools)
> Able to work overtime when needed (required) and travel as needed (Expected to be less than 25%)
> Must be a U.S. Citizen

COMPONENT INSTALLATION DESIGNER
The preferred candidate will possess a four year degree in an engineering discipline, either Mechanical or Electrical, 2000 hours CATIA design experience as well as 3 to 4 years’ experience in a design/manufacturing environment. The designer will work with a variety of engineering disciplines in a cooperative, Product Development Team format. Excellent written, oral and presentation skills as well as personal computer literacy using Microsoft Office products will be required. A working knowledge of MIL-W-5088 or AS50881 is desired.
Assignments in the Component Installation Section require the knowledge of Electrical/Mechanical drafting practices, geometric tolerancing, engineering mathematics, manufacturing practices as well as the ability to interpret equipment specifications and electrical schematics. Candidates will be responsible for the design and preparation of detail, assembly and installation drawings as required to define aircraft component and harness installations.
The candidate will tackle challenging assignments and develop unique solutions to rotorcraft Component Installation Design. Areas of design responsibility include electrical power system components, instrument panel and crew station design, antennas, lighting, airspeed systems, molded wiring assemblies and wire harness assemblies/installations.
LCA experience preferred.
