6 Month Contract
$34.00-37.00/Hr

1st Shift

Duties:
** Candidates must be U.S. Citizens **

-This position is for a test engineer in the Materials Characterization & Analysis group in the Material & Process Engineering Department.

-Selected candidate will be responsible for providing materials related technical support for metallic and non-metallic materials to product teams.

-Materials testing, involves the use of varied testing equipment and instruments to perform tensile test, hardness testing, Impact Testing for oxygen compatibility, flammability testing, environmental exposure material conditioning and testing.

-Position requires good hands on skills and familiarity with various measurement tools, and gages, and ability to read and interpret both Spec and Eng hardware drawings.

-Personnel should be able to prep and fabricate test samples, and measure density and specific gravities as needed.

Skills:
-Candidates must have the ability to work in a team oriented environment, have excellent problem solving skills, interpersonal and communication skills, organizational and strong computer knowledge is mandatory. Hands on experience with tensile machines, hardness tester, measurement tools i.e. micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.

-Some experience in an industrial setting is also desirable as well as demonstrated proficiency in practical application of engineering principles, or quality systems support.

-Familiarity with Materials Specifications and working knowledge of ASTM test procedures are a plus.

-Familiarity with gaseous & liquid delivery systems and their related components, i.e. plumbing, valves, gages & safety relief systems is highly desirable.

-The ability to design & create engineering drawings for the fabrication of unique test components and fixtures is also a plus.

Education:
AA degree or higher with 5-10 years lab/material testing experience is highly desired.
