Electrical Engineer

Description:
Responsibilities:

> Identify customer requirements
> Design electrical systems / products and develop/generate electrical schematics, design specifications & technical drawings
> Specify components, wire and connector sizing, and interfaces; validate schematics and circuit diagrams
> Process electrical Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs)
> Create Bill of Materials (BOM); research suitable solutions while estimating costs & schedule
> Create models and/or prototypes of products
> Work with others on design, product management & production teams, as well as with clients and contractors
> Design test plans and conduct tests; record, analyze, and interpret test data
> Propose modifications and retesting products as required for product compliance to specifications
> Qualify the final product and/or system while adhering to Quality Management processes and policies
> Prepare product documentation, write reports, and give presentations for design and other engineering reviews
> Resolve process problems, provide recommendations to improve processes & monitor products to improve on future design; service and maintain equipment as necessary
> Work within the National Electrical Code to ensure safety and compliance

Requirements:

> 5+ years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
> Strong electrical experience in AC/DC and with generators, chargers, battery systems, etc.
> Experience in electro-mechanical system design & networking systems (wireless, Ethernet, serial communications, etc.)
> Experience with soldering, crimping, MIL spec connectors and harness design
> Proficiency with Microsoft Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
> Experience with general office software tools; ability to utilize the Internet for research and resource gathering; ability to manage communications and calendars through email.

Preferred:

> Experience in designing electrical components, assemblies, and subassemblies
> Servo Motor Design and Control
> PLC design experience is a plus
> 2D and 3D drawing experience (SolidWorks Routing a plus)
> Experience with IPC & MIL standards for government customers
