Electro-Mechanical Assemblers

Description:
STS Technical Services is hiring Electro-Mechanical Assemblers in Madison, Wisconsin to be responsible for assembly fiber optic products in various fiber-centric processes in a clean-room environment. This position will contribute to the team by performing other assembly functions, which may include: fiber pull test, cleaving, splicing, striping, cut and connectorization.

Responsibilities:
Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule, within budget and to SPC standard practices
Work under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs
Able to effectively communicate with other functional departments, such as Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Sales departments
Must maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)
Primary responsibility will be polishing fiber lenses on daily basic for various fiber
Perform other assembly functions, which may include: fiber pull test, cleaving, splicing, striping, cut and connectorization
Must be able understand written work instructions, mechanical drawing and schematic to properly assemble product to the highest of quality standards with zero scrap or rework
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in specialty area (Electronic Assembly, Fiber Optics, Micro-mechanical Assembly).
Ability to work independently under the supervision of others.
Ability to work with small hand tools such as tweezers, vacuum wands and hex drivers.
Experience performing inspections using low and high powered microscopes preferred.
Flexibility to work OT to meet Production Demand and company goals
