Aerodynamics Engineer

Description:
• Perform detailed aerodynamic analysis in areas of aircraft aerodynamic forces, performance, external loads, and handling qualities
• Predict aircraft performance and handling characteristics using classical analytical techniques as well as advanced simulation tools
• Provide guidance in design modifications to the airframe or airframe elements to improve aerodynamic performance
• Generate aerodynamic performance, stability and control and loads databases
• Assist in the development of advanced aerodynamic analysis tools
• Provide support for engineering, certification, and flight test departments from concept to product certification

Basic Qualifications:
• Zero to five years overall technical experience in computational fluid dynamics of external and/or internal flows.
• BS degree or higher in mechanical/aerospace engineering.
Strong technical, interpersonal, communication, administrative, and presentation skills.

Desired qualifications:
• MS or PhD degree in a technical specialty involving computational fluid dynamics.
• Significant experience with CFD including validation of results. History of working in a collaborative multi-discipline team environment. Experience in the development of fighter, supersonic, and/or business aircraft. Familiarity with HPC platforms and NASA CFD codes such as Overflow and Fun3D.
