Electrical engineering analysis and design of avionics and electrical systems modification of rotary-wing and fixed-wing (turboprop) aircraft

The Senior Aircraft Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and documentation for modifications, upgrades and overhauls of electrical systems to support the sustainment and modification of rotary-wing and fixed-wing (turboprop) aircraft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform detailed analysis and design of avionics and electrical systems of the aircraft
Ensure a high level of operational performance and compliance with operational, safety, regulatory, and reliability requirements
Integrate and test solutions through a System Integration Laboratory (SIL).
Develop layouts, drawings, and designs according to engineering specifications in order to obtain civil or military airworthiness approvals.
Participate in technical reviews of aircraft systems and update designs and implementation strategies to meet cost, schedule, and quality restrictions
Actively interface with customers, vendors and coworkers to ensure a cooperative development effort

Minimum Requirements



Knowledge and Skills

Ability to perform individual assignments with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality work products.
Well versed in designing electronics to meet military and civil aerospace specifications, such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, ISO-9001/AS9100, and FAA regulations.
Proficiency in CAD programs (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks).
Excellent written and oral communications skills and technical presentation skills.
Previous experience with test procedures and analysis development.
Broad technical and analytical engineering experience as applied to design, analysis, product qualification, acceptance test procedures, and technical writing.
In-depth understanding of engineering document control /review processes, configuration, and data management/product lifecycle management processes (CDM / PLM), and QMS.


Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university, or equivalent education and training.
Fifteen (15) or more years of hands-on experience in the design, integration, and documentation of military or civil rotary-wing and fixed-wing (turboprop) aircraft.


Desired Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience developing aircraft Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and/or FAA Form 337

Tool design engineer with an Active Clearance

Description:
The tool design engineer designs industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments required for production or experimental use, considering such factors as accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts, in the field. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Will act as liaison between designers, manufacturing, engineers, manufacturing, and tooling procurement regarding aspects of quality, cost, and schedule relating to tool manufacturing planning. Will lead activities to improve processes within the tool design and planning product flow. Will use 3DX / Catia for design and create technical 2D drawings.

Required Experience:
• Secret security clearance. Ability to obtain SAP within 6 weeks of submission.
• Minimum 1 year design experience with Catia V5 or 3DX
• Minimum 7 years’ experience designing a variety of assembly tools for aerospace vehicles or similar
• Minimum 1 year creating 2D technical design drawings

Desired Experience:
• Tool fabrication
• Types of tooling: structures assembly, fixtures, drill jigs, lift and move tools
• Authoring tool usage instructions or assembly work instructions
• Manufacturing engineering type production floor support
• Aircraft assembly
• First article builds
• B.S. degree


Required Experience:
• Recent experience with Catia V5 or 3DX
• 7+ years’ experience designing a variety of assembly tools for aerospace vehicles
• Experience creating 2D technical design drawings (Blue prints)
