What You’ll Do

Lead the preparation of engineering documents for aircraft interior and secondary structure modifications— including detail, assembly, and installation drawings, specifications, and substantiation reports.

Oversee the design integration, installation, and certification coordination for interior components, collaborating with suppliers, production teams, and regulatory stakeholders.

Research and evaluate components for compliance with design requirements; coordinate with suppliers to ensure technical accuracy.

Contribute to statements of work and support bid activities for new customer projects.

Partner with service center personnel to troubleshoot build, modification, and testing challenges; create deviation drawings and engineering resolutions as needed.

Communicate design intent clearly both verbally and through detailed technical documentation.

Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary engineering team to ensure program success.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or at least 5 years of hands-on mechanical design experience in aviation.

Strong working knowledge of aircraft interior systems, including ECS, potable/waste water systems, and other integrated commodities.

Proficiency in CATIA (required); experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of certification rules for FAA, EASA, and TCCA.

Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Strength in communicating design intent and resolving complex design challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Set-up & Implementation: Set up and implement ADU equipment, working alongside the manager. You’ll use your expertise to advise on best practices for floor setups and traffic strategies. 

  • Technical Support & Maintenance: Oversee the qualification of ADUs, maintain and adjust ADUs, cutting tools, and drilling templates. Provide technical problem-solving support to the Head of Back Shops and Head of the Station. 

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to employees using ADU equipment for the first time, ensuring smooth operations and safety. 

  • Continuous Improvement: Support the ongoing maintenance, repair, and optimization of ADUs, cutting tools, drilling templates, and test equipment.

Qualifications We’re Looking For: 

  • Required:  

    • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with the maintenance of ADUs, cutting tools, drilling templates, and test equipment.

The Upholstery Technician I is an entry-level position responsible for fabricating and installing upholstery, cover panels, and making simple patterns for aircraft interiors. Under moderate supervision, the individual will work with design and engineering drawings, along with aircraft specifications, to ensure high-quality interior installations. This role provides opportunities for hands-on training and skill development in the upholstery and carpet trades within the aerospace industry.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Perform technical upholstery functions within design, customer, FAA, and Company specifications. Specific installation and trim tasks are to be completed in compliance with work order instructions and specifications.
  • Fit panels and windows, cabin head liners, upper sidewalls, lower side panels, hatch panels, windows, cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads, fabricate various metal parts, and covering and installation of panels.
  • Create carpet patterns per design drawings and complete installation. .
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.
 
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to use measuring tools and perform basic math computations.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds and work any shift.
  • Valid Driver's License Required
 
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers and/or various hand tools used in upholstery and carpet trades is preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with MTL, STM, and the Inspection Department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements. Properly complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Assist as needed with shift turnovers.
  • Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
  • Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.) .
  • Coordinate, accomplish, and assist with aircraft movement in hangar and ramp areas.
  • Provide training to less experienced technicians. .
  • Protect customer property (PTP).
 
Additional Functions:
  • Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility.
  • Properly use and maintain Company-provided tools and equipment. Return items to designated storage area after use.
  • Comply with safety rules and procedures. Use protective equipment as required. and be alert for unsafe conditions. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-offs, and to charge labor to correct work orders.
  • In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
 
Other Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
  • Must have working knowledge of Turbine Engines.  Rolls Royce and Pratt Whitney specific would be a plus!
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

About the Role:
As a Structural Mechanic II, you will work in a team-oriented environment where you will perform a variety of structural assembly operations. Your work will directly impact the assembly and fitting of aircraft parts and structures, ensuring that each part meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assembly, fitting, drilling, and riveting of parts and structures, ensuring each piece meets quality standards and customer expectations.

  • Use tools like riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, and rivet shavers to ensure a precise fit and finish.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and operation sheets to determine the correct sequence of operations and ensure proper assembly.

  • Verify that all assemblies meet quality standards and perform necessary rework based on Material Review Requests (MRR) or Discrepant Material Tags (DMT).

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations and the company’s 5S Program.

  • Participate in continuous improvement activities like Kaizen events and help optimize production processes.

  • Properly use and maintain company-provided tools, ensuring all equipment is returned in good condition.

 
Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 2+ years of related structural assembly experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use basic shop math.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in small or restricted spaces, and operate ground support equipment.

  • A commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures.

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Solumina and Smarteam software.

  • Familiarity with working on composite materials.

  • Previous experience with Lean Activities and process improvement efforts.

  • Ability to work various shifts as required.

What You’ll Be Doing: 

  • Perform detailed structural assembly operations, including drilling, riveting, and fitting parts to ensure top-notch quality and adherence to FAA requirements and Company standards. 

  • Use a variety of tools like portable riveting guns, pneumatic drills, and reamers to assemble sheet metal and structural parts. 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to ensure precise operations and proper part assembly.

Required Qualifications:

Role Summary

About the Role
As an Upholstery Technician II, you will work under minimal supervision to fabricate and install upholstery, cover panels, and create basic patterns using engineering drawings and aircraft specifications. Your expertise with materials, tools, and fabrication techniques will ensure every aircraft interior meets the highest standards of precision and durability.
 
What You’ll Do
• Fabricate and install flat panels and curtains using engineering drawings and aircraft specifications
• Sew simple covers and work with fabrics, vinyl, leather hides, composites, adhesives, hardware, and power tools
• Cut and surge carpets, cover bulkheads, and install panels
• Potentially fabricate metal parts and fit various interior components including windows, headliners, and sidewalls
• Use the material tracking system to create parts demands, track squawks, and sign off work
• Collaborate with leads and senior technicians to support process improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles
• Ensure compliance with safety, 5S, housekeeping standards, and proper use of PPE
• Address and report unsafe conditions and perform additional duties as assigned
 
Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience using commercial sewing machines, sergers, and hand tools used in upholstery or carpet trades
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently

Position Purpose
Under general supervision, the Cabinet Maker II fabricates aircraft furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using aircraft specifications, design and engineering drawings with a high level of safety, quality, detail and productivity. Assists team members with greater experience to enhance techniques supportive of quality workmanship.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Works under general supervision to fabricate furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, aircraft specifications and design/engineering drawings.
  • Assembles, pins and glues cabinet shells. Installs drawer-slides, hinges, latches and other hardware in subassemblies. Applies exterior surface materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips.
  • Uses various types of stationary and hand-held power tools to fabricate or disassemble furniture.
  • Complies with all safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. Uses personal protective equipment to protect aircraft interior.
  • Uses the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and to sign-off work.
 
Additional Functions:
  • Works with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements that increase safety, reduce, cost, cycle time, and man-hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process improvement techniques.
 
Other Requirements:
  • The ability to read write, speak, and understand the English language.

This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               


Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Workday EIB (Enterprise Integration Builder) for mass updates
• Prior involvement in system testing, audits, or large-volume HR transactions
• Ability to analyze complex data and recommend effective resolutions
