MRB Engineer

Description:
The primary task of this person will be to review manufacturing non-conformances and establish appropriate dispositions for these parts and assemblies. Competency in first order design and analysis principles is a must. Ability to utilize CATIA V5 is desired. Experience with various composite material systems is desired.
Knowledge of air vehicle systems, systems integration, engineering design, the drawing release process, and subsystems/component qualification
Working knowledge and experience integrating various mechanical systems into a composite aircraft.
Familiarity with composite fabrication processes
Review and provide engineering technical disposition of non-conformance notifications related to metallic and composite parts/assemblies
Skilled in “equivalent strength” principles
Participation in product Corrective Action Board (CAR) reviews

Requirements
B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar engineering discipline is required
At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
Experience with CATIA V5 strongly preferred. SOLIDWORKS or equivalent will be considered in lieu of CATIA.
Experienced design (broad based aircraft experience) with knowledge of design manufacturing tolerances for production of components using GD&T
Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools (PLM software), Requirements management tools and configuration management
Excellent verbal and written communication, excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Matlab
Knowledge and experience with AS9100 a plus
Experience with the design of flight vehicles or vehicle systems to a set of requirements or standards such as CFR 14, Part 400, Part 23 and 25, DO-160, military (MIL-STD-810) or NASA are highly desired
Experience with manufacturing based ERP systems a plus
Strong team player and ability to work independently with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
Composite and metal design experience preferred
Understanding of MRB requirements & procedures
Extensive working knowledge of engineering drawings / requirements
NDT/Visual non-conformance disposition expertise
Experience with control & segregation requirements for non-conforming material
Familiarization with records accuracy & completeness (including data codes)
Ability to facilitate inadequate cause & corrective action resolutions
Familiarization with rework vs accept disposition risk assessments
Familiarization with final dispositions & re-submit codes
Experience should include creation of engineering dispositions for non-conformances for pressurized and non
pressurized metallic and non-metallic structures (fuselage, wing, empennage)
Experience should be in a production and/or schedule-driven environment
Capability to analyze and rapidly design repairs based on equivalent strength/stiffness of surrounding structure while in a schedule driven environment
Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Typically a 9-10 hour work day, with some scheduled weekend support required
