Design Engineer

Description:
Overview:
The successful candidate will serve as the technical focal point for all aspects of aircraft Electrical Wiring and Interconnection Systems (EWIS) design and development. This role involves hands-on design, coordination across disciplines, and technical leadership in support of complex aerospace platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of EWIS harness assemblies, routings, and installations.

Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve system interferences and ensure seamless integration.

Select appropriate EWIS components and materials to meet system and environmental requirements.

Provide technical input on design tool development, process improvements, and CAD/PLM enhancements.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and designers, ensuring adherence to best practices and design standards.

Support system safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and environmental protection initiatives related to wiring design.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

6+ years of relevant experience (advanced degrees may substitute for experience; equivalent experience may substitute for education).

Strong proficiency with 3D harness routing and installation design tools (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks, NX).

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as 3DEXPERIENCE, ENOVIA SmarTeam, or Teamcenter.

Familiarity with Model-Based Design (MBD) and Model-Based Definition (MBD) principles.

Working knowledge of electromagnetic effects (EME) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design practices, including mitigation methods.

Understanding of system safety and hazard mitigation principles.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering disciplines.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA Electrical Workbench, and CATIA V5/V6.

Prior experience in aerospace EWIS design, particularly in the development of complex aircraft systems.

Mechanical Engineer

Description:
Mechanical Design Engineer – Aerospace Systems

Overview:
This position supports a diverse range of advanced programs, from mission payloads and electronic systems to fully integrated aircraft and orbital/space exploration platforms. The Mechanical Design Engineer will conceptualize, design, and develop complex mechanical structures and systems, contributing across all phases of the product lifecycle—from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for aerospace applications.

Create and refine 3D models, drawings, and documentation using CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent CAD tools.

Support the development of new products and processes, ensuring design compliance and manufacturability.

Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and systems requirements.

Apply sound engineering principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and configuration management practices.

Participate in reviews and technical evaluations to ensure design integrity throughout the development process.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

2+ years of relevant engineering experience.

Practical knowledge of engineering principles and best practices.

Proficiency with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools; CATIA V5/V6 preferred (Creo or NX accepted, particularly for wire harness design).

Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.

Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background in the Aerospace or Defense industry.

Experience with commercial derivative aircraft or related systems.

Familiarity with 3D wire harness routing and electrical/mechanical integration.

Skilled in applying and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Knowledge of parametric design, model-based definition, material selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
