• Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components. Rig control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear and doors, engines, cowls, aircraft entry doors and associated parts and hardware.
• Remove and replace linkage, sectors, components, cut and fit system lines and associated hardware necessary to facilitate and perform basic repairs.

• Maintain and use all logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.

About the Role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a skilled Quality Inspection Technician to join the Additive Design and Manufacturing (ADaM) team at a leading aerospace facility in Monroe, NC. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary quality inspector, ensuring additively manufactured components meet rigorous aerospace standards. You will manage the metrology lab, oversee inspection equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain the highest level of quality and compliance.

What You’ll Do

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of additively manufactured components using advanced metrology techniques (3D Scanner, CMM, etc.).

• Manage setup, qualification, and maintenance of inspection equipment.

• Review and approve outsourced inspection activities, serving as the primary contact for external providers.

• Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and Measurement System Analysis (Gauge R&R).

• Operate and maintain metrology and calibration systems, coordinating troubleshooting and vendor support when needed.

• Document nonconformance findings, quarantine nonconforming product, and support containment activities.

• Collaborate with engineering, planning, and material science teams to execute inspections and required tests.

• Follow quality management system (QMS) requirements, work instructions, and ERP/MES processes (SAP and Solumina).

• Support metallurgical lab activities and secondary testing as needed.

• Participate in occasional off-hours virtual meetings to support global collaboration.

Qualifications You Must Have

• AA/AS degree in a related field and 4+ years of experience, or 6+ years of relevant experience without a degree.

• 4+ years of production environment experience.

• 4+ years of experience following detailed inspection plans and instructions.

• Advanced metrology experience with 3D Scanners, CMM, and related software.

• Strong understanding of GD&T principles.

• Skilled with precision inspection tools (calipers, gauges, etc.).
