Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking a contract Software Engineer with the ability to obtain a security clearance for an opportunity in Fort Worth, TX.

Applicant will be the software engineer responsible for supporting System Build Infrastructure. This position is critical to the automation and configuration framework, system integration and software build process in support of several programs. This position will be responsible for supporting a software development team integrate, support, and debug software deliveries. As well as design and develop automation utilities, troubleshoot and Support CI/CD build Pipelines, develop build automation infrastructure and automated tools. Applicant will be expected to attend and participate in daily scrums, sprint reviews and technical demos and evaluate impediments and provide support for teams when issues arise.

Required Skills
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years experience programming in Python
• 3+ years experience with the Linux/Unix command line
• 5+ years of experience with software configuration management tools (Git, Artifactory, Nexus)

Desired skills :
• Familiar with GitLab CI/CD; can run pipelines, create basic jobs, and resolve common failures.
• Experience building and running Docker containers; basic awareness of Kubernetes concepts and limited hands?on deployment.

Description:
Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Performs, integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort. Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under general direction.

The primary focus of this position will be cross functional collaboration enabling early detection of hardware quality issues along with identification and implementation of root causes and corrective actions that will improve the overall ability of the Support Equipment organization to deliver on customer commitments.

Support Equipment products include support products used during manufacturing, on the platform, and off the platform. Products used during manufacturing include non-destructive test products and production line automated test equipment with associated test program sets. Products used on the platform include operational and handling equipment such as dollies, hoists, lifts, slings, tugs and generators. It also includes structural repair kits, composite repair kits as well as various test and diagnostic flight line testers. Products used off the platform include automated test equipment with associated test program sets. Support development and refinement of manufacturing processes for airframe components and assemblies.
Assist with producibility reviews and manufacturing readiness efforts for new or revised designs.
Translate engineering drawings, models, specifications, and requirements into practical manufacturing processes and work instructions.
Help define tooling, fixtures, jigs, and assembly methods to support efficient production.
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support root cause analysis for defects, escapes, and process disruptions.
