Senior Flight Control Systems Integration Engineer (GNC Engineer)

Description:
Johnson Service Group is seeking for (15) Senior Flight Control Systems Integration and Safety Engineer to support our client's team in Everett, Washington.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Rate Range: $80-$95 DOE

Position Responsibilities:
• This requisition is seeking accomplished, self-motivated mid-career engineers to design, analyze, test and certify flight control systems and components for large commercial aircraft as well as to support the production and fleet operations of this equipment. This requisition is for multiple positions in multiple flight control disciplines performing many of the tasks listed below.
• Decomposes airplane level requirements into system level requirements and further decomposes system level requirements into component requirements
• Participates in and/or lead system, component and detail certification efforts, including: creation of required certification artifacts, such as, system safety analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and fault tree analysis; confirming and demonstrating traceability to regulatory requirements; and resolution of regulation conflicts.
• Gathers, defines and documents system level requirements to support flight control and mission or trajectory requirements definition.
• Resolves requirement conflicts. Performs and documents analysis and design of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems to validate or assess the system design or models.
• Participates in and/or lead system level and component level validation analysis and testing, including: test monitoring; analysis and test report authoring; supplier test report review and approval; test failure analysis; and test failure mitigation.
• Generally, these activities require successful cross-functional coordination within and outside of client including with:, avionics, pilot/crew operations, airplane safety, aerodynamics, systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies.
• Develops solutions and disposition of issues to assure customer satisfaction.
• Works under general direction.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
• 5-7 years of technical experience working with Flight Controls
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
• 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with System Safety Analysis including failure modes and effects analysis; fault tree analysis; common cause analysis, and single & multiple failure analysis
• Knowledge/Experience with ARP 4754 and ARP 4761
• Experience with flight controls system and component architecture
• Experience in requirements development, design, analysis, and verification & validation of flight control systems
• Experience using requirement management tools such as IBM Rational DOORS
• Experience with manufacturing regulated and certified, safety critical components and software
Typical Education/ Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Design Engineer

Description:
Design Engineer

Candidate will complete the design of structural detail parts, assemblies, and installations, as well as systems installations for peculiar versions of C-130, C-5, P-3 and S-3 aircraft. This position is in the C-130J Airframe Design team working on a number of customer mods that include working on various complex designs with vendor coordination. Position also supports various special projects requiring detail CATIA V5 modeling.
Engineer shall be responsible for:
(1) Employee will drive design solutions with little direction. Coordinates with wiring/avionics and VSS design inputs during the design process. Must coordinate with mfg as necessary to ensure the design is producible and meets manufacturability reqmts. Responsible for holding periodic design reviews and coordinating updates as the design matures. Responsible for the dwg coordination and signoff making sure that the design meets cost, schedule and performance.
(2) Responsible for development of layouts, preparation of engineering drawings, and coordination of activities with affected organizations,
(3) This position requires engineers to use their knowledge of configuration management, drafting/drawing conventions, and aerospace specifications and procedures to develop design solutions to meet all customer requirements. The issues encountered can be related to any facet of a program from design development, fabrication, assembly, flight test, and in service, as well as post-delivery modifications. Engineers in this position are expected to work with only minimal direct supervision and drive design solutions with input from the IPT.
(4) Support of manufacturing operations and customers in resolving technical problems related to the aircraft structure and systems.
Candidate must be able to coordinate efforts with progressively less supervision across a wide range of functional organizations, such as Planning, Tooling, Stress, Materials & Processes (M&P), Reliability and Maintainability (R&M), Materiel, Flight Sciences, Test, Manufacturing, and other Design Product Focus Teams (PFTs) to ensure that designs meet customer and derived requirements.
Ideal Candidate would have aerospace design experience with knowledge of configuration management techniques, drafting/drawing conventions, and aerospace specifications and procedures.
