Stress Engineer - Engineer V

Description:
Responsibilities include performing stress analysis and related activities for new and derivative designs of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new aircraft. This includes review of Engineering models and drawings, preparing load calculations, and writing stress reports in collaboration with the Structural Engineering group and Structural AR's providing approvals. Example designs include custom cabinetry such as galleys, lavatories, closets, and other storage compartments, interior peripheries, water/waste systems, entertainment equipment installations, and seating installations. Analysis of airframe modifications to meet the requirements of interior installation may also be involved. Additional responsibilities include aircraft level analysis such as decompression and floor loading analysis. Analysis is done utilizing Classical hand analysis and Finite Element Modeling using FEMAP with Nastran.

Must have working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR - especially Chapter I, Part 25), as it pertains to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulation procedures and the STC process as it relates to certification of Aircraft Interiors. Candidates should have a sufficient knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA V5 to adequately review Engineering designs. Must be proficient in FEMAP and NASTRAN. Must have excellent communication and report writing skills.

Assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Lead or Group Head to meet Engineering, Certification, and manufacturing schedules. Analysis methods and design standards to be employed are consistent with company standards and accepted methods. Additional responsibilities are outlined in the job description and as assigned.

QA Certification Specialist II

Description:
• Previous Manufacturing/Planning experience preferred.
• Solumina 2 experience preferred.

Position Purpose:

In a team-oriented environment, performs all tasks in area of responsibility in a timely and efficient manner to support aircraft certification activities performed by FAA Principle Inspectors or Gulfstream ODA IARs. Ensures the article and all associated data supports and presented for certification meets requirements in accordance with the approved Quality Assurance System and the ODA (ODA-511131-CE) Operations Manual. 1. Coordinates article & aircraft certification activities to program schedule and milestones.
2. Manipulates and maintains large data sets related to configuration, article traceability and conformity of aircraft to determine status and compare to schedule and objectives.
3. Prepares and/or reviews data packages prior to submission in accordance with ODA/FAA requirements.
4. Performs data evaluation, interrogation, and correlation of data between electronic systems.
5. Identifies abnormal data trends or changes, works with internal and external organizations to facilitate resolution.
6. Interprets engineering configuration data relative to manufacturing planning and deviations.
7. Monitors completion of certification tasks to ensure completion to program requirements and schedules.
8. Participates in team process improvement team projects both internal and external to quality.

Additional Functions:
1. Actively engaged and completes process improvement projects related to achieving improved quality or efficiency within their area of responsibility.
2. Actively supports corporate initiative in resource sustainability and business continuity.
3. Promotes, encourages, and supports continuous improvement culture.
4.Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
1. An Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is not required but may be used in combination with four (4) years of related quality experience (in addition to the experience requirements below) to offset the Bachelors degree.
2. ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized airworthiness designee highly preferred.
3. Current/prior authorizations as an FAA IAR/DMIR/ODAR or DAR is preferred.
