The candidate will be working on a team developing one of the following on a TI version of embedded Linux:
-Configure and build Linux. Optimize Linux for limited space constraints of the device.
-Develop USB Mass storage interface for the device
-Setting up a file system on which to store large videos and still images. Be able to pull images and video back off from a Windows computer
-Porting G-Streamer from on older version of Linux to the TI version of embedded Linux. The work with G-Streamer will include the following tasks:
• Porting a camera driver from a different version of Linux
• Recording and compressing video
• Displaying video output
• Compression tweaking
• Time stamping
-Creating applications that will reside on top of Linux that perform various functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Currently team is in a contract extension, position likely to be extended thru September 2012.

In this position you will work as part of a team of Oracle DBAs for the Defense Travel System and GovTrip. The selected individual must be willing to provide on-call support for 24x7 operations, including weekend and late-night maintenance duties. You will be responsible for performing daily checks of the production, testing, and development database environments, performing system backups and recovery as required, capacity planning and performance tuning as it pertains to the Oracle environment. In addition, the candidate will be resolving problems from the production environment and interacting with Testing and Development Divisions to resolve problems and identify system enhancements.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of installing, configuring, upgrading and tuning Oracle 9i and 10g running on Solaris and Linux. The candidate should also be familiar with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), Grid Control and have Unix shell scripting, SQL scripting and PL/SQL experience. Experience with DOD and/or GSA database security requirements is a major plus. Experience with Oracle 11g is also a plus.



REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    The performance engineer will:
    - Use computer based tools to analyze airplane performance in specific phases of flight including takeoff, climb, descent, approach and landing, as well as overall mission analysis.
    - Analyze flight test data in support of airplane performance data development.
    - Prepare performance data for airplane manuals, and third party avionics and flight planning vendors.
    - Coordinate with aviation authorities (FAA, EASA, others) regarding compliance with performance regulations.
    - Respond to inquiries from customers/operators relating to published performance data.
    - Support new product development programs and fleet sustaining issues.
    - Prepare performance data for new models, and derivatives of current models.
    - Maintain current legacy computer analysis programs, and support development of modified and new computer tools and methods.
    - Working knowledge of operating systems and programming languages required, Unix/Linux and FORTRAN experience a plus.
