Principal Flight Software Engineer III - ONSITE

***This assignment is a hybrid role and would be required to onsite in Centennial 2-3 days a week and at times work out of the Louisville, CO location.***

Software Engineer will work in an agile, collective environment. You will be using your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge software products. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting of systems and software throughout our development process. Your technical duties involve the design and development of new software products throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience
• Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education
• A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
• Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
• Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong technical understanding of C++ and Object-Oriented Programming

This position contributes to the development and sustainment of next-generation training technologies for military pilot training, including advanced visualization systems like MMRS (Multi Mode Radar Simulation) and JHMCS (Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System).

The engineer will participate in full-lifecycle software development including requirements analysis, system and software design, implementation, testing, and integration. The position emphasizes real-time 3D rendering, graphics system integration, and software optimization for pilot training environments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

Containerization:
Understanding of containerization concepts, including Docker, and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
Linux: Proficiency in Linux operating systems, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or similar distributions.
Networking: Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing.
Security: Understanding of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
Troubleshooting: Strong troubleshooting skills, including log analysis, debugging, and problem-solving.
Kubernetes Concepts: Understanding of Kubernetes concepts, including pods, services, deployments, and persistent volumes
Kubernetes CLI: Proficiency in using the Kubernetes CLI (kubectl) to manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters.
Kubernetes Networking: Knowledge of Kubernetes networking concepts, including services, endpoints, and network policies.

OpenShift Specific Skills:
OpenShift Architecture: Understanding of OpenShift architecture, including masters, nodes, and etcd.
OpenShift CLI: Proficiency in using the OpenShift CLI (oc) to manage and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters. OpenShift Web Console: Familiarity with the OpenShift web console and its features.
Project and Application Management: Understanding of how to create, manage, and scale projects and applications in OpenShift.
Image Management: Knowledge of how to manage container images, including building, pushing, and pulling images.
