Making AOL compatible with CJHunter.comSince the first of the year, we have received a flood of complaints from AOL users regarding their troubles in receiving their job search results from us. Beginning in January, AOL instituted a new, tougher spam filter. This filter is very aggressive about what it considers spam. Because of this, most of our AOL users have been having their EZjobs blocked before it reaches their inbox. If you're an AOL user and you want to insure that you get your job listings you will need to do the following: Note: These instructions are correct for AOL 9.0. Earlier versions might have slightly different details. The important thing is that you get jobsearch@cjhunter.com added to your address book.
You should now be able to receive your EZjobs emails regardless of the AOL spam blocker. If you are an advertiser who is not receiving your resumes/hotsheets: Follow the instructions outlined above but add 'agent@cjhunter.com' to your address book instead of 'jobsearch@cjhunter.com' Final Note: Our experimentation has shown that AOL is also filtering email based on the size of it as well as the content. Large emails never make it even as far as the spam filter. This means that if you are using very generic keywords (Like, say, 'software' and nothing else) then your job search results might be long enough that AOL's email server won't deliver it at all. If you have very general keywords designed to create large listings then it would be advisable to use something a bit more specific and cut down the length of the response. Alternatively, you should get a separate email account for your EZjobs, such as yahoo, hotmail, or a members.cjhunter.com email account. (A members.cjhunter.com email account is free as long as you keep your subscription current.) If you have any questions please email us at webmaster@cjhunter.com or call us at 425-806-5200.
